To offset the cost of college tuition for worthy high-school students, the State of Nevada now offers a special scholarship program that applies to state-supported public institutions of higher education. Elligible high school students must meet specific criteria to receive the award:
- Graduate with a diploma from a Nevada public or private high school (Year 2000 or later)
- Complete high school with at least a 3.0 GPA
- Pass all areas of the Nevada High School Proficiency Exam
- Maintain Nevada residency for at least two of the four high school years
